Nature walks and modern playdates
Days 6-7
Today we learned that Governor Newsom is mandating the whole state shelter-in-place. It's getting real. And it's looking like we'll be living this way for many months to come. I've already lost track of the days the way one does in the downtime between Christmas and the New Year.
We still await Wyatt's covid-19 results but we're not worried. He's doing much better - it was really a standard cold but the results determine how long until we can see the kids'
grandparents.
A couple of days ago we took the stroller and a scooter to the Bay Trail. We've lived in our house in East Palo Alto for almost seven years, and we've never once done this! I suspect we'll discover lots of silver linings like this during our lockdown.
On Tuesday, Wyatt's preschool rolled out its "home learning" curriculum, which includes suggested activities for each day, zoom "morning meeting" and "circle time." Next week, they'll start remote Pre-K, which was previously held Monday-Thursday for the small group of kids entering Kindergarten this coming fall. (Speaking of Kinder, today we found out Wyatt got into our first choice school! Yay!! Hopefully school will resume in the fall! All bets of are off now.) We also tried our hand at a zoom playdate with Wyatt's favorite friend. It was very sweet.
